BOT. Plante dicotylédone (de la famille des Composées), d'origine exotique, dont quelques espèces sont cultivées en Europe comme plantes ornementales pour leurs fleurs aux vives couleurs. En général, les Rudbeckies sont très-rustiques et viennent très-bien dans les terres de bruyère (PRIVAT-FOC. 1870). Rudbeckia. Plante annuelle et vivace (...) ses fleurs, en forme de Marguerite, s'épanouissent tout l'été (Guide prat. du jard., Paris, Édilec, 1976, p. 332).
